About Us

Sponsors of Youth International was established to assist in providing children, regardless of their circumstances, with opportunities to develop to their fullest potential, growing up prepared to meet life's challenges in positive and peaceful ways.

The organization seeks to accomplish this by developing and supporting programs that meet children's true developmental needs: physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual.

The Current Initiative

The current initiative is an interactive, interfaith educational program called Mother Mary's Way. It's based on the universal truths of the world's great religions with the goal of increasing understanding, compassion and respect for peoples of all cultures and traditions.

Inspired by the work of Dr. Maria Montessori and her associates, this program uses multi-sensory, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities designed to lead children to an inner understanding and deep experience of these truths.

Volunteers of Sponsors of Youth International are developing this scripture-based curriculum with customized hands-on lessons and lesson plans. Their development is first focusing on the Christian tradition with plans to continue through the universal truths and teachings found in Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism and Hinduism.

The organization both sells and donates the curriculum, lesson materials and training to groups committed to providing this program to the children in their communities. As of January 2017, there are groups in Arizona, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Montana, Texas, Washington, Colombia and Santo Domingo!

Volunteers have set up a model demonstration Children's Chapel in Bozeman, Montana and offer sessions each week for children and parents. In addition they offer phone, email and in-person consultations for teachers and parents and host an annual training Seminar at the demonstration Chapel.
